Sunrise in Cape Verde

I went to Cape Verde to rest for a few days, and my hotel abutted the sea. (The sound of ocean waves I find therapeutic and the breeze I find refreshing). I wanted to capture the movement of sunrise as it peeped from the horizon, spreading its colourful wings across the expanse of sky. I was at my post at 5am, waiting for the sun as it arose with healing in its wings. I waited, and I caught it and put it in my bag as it hid behind the tree.

The first draft of this book was written in Cape Verde.
